On the Management Excellence blog today, Art Petty wrote about all the different things that we like to rely on occasionally as leaders. Sometimes it is luck, sometimes it is hope, sometimes it is magic – but does any of that work?
What is better to rely on is hard work. Hard work, common sense and dreaming. Petty explains:
these are the only three that are capable of supporting us as we persevere against an endless barrage of bad news and tough choices.
In reality, we have to have a combination of all of these things. If we have no hope and no luck, our dreams and our work do not really mean as much as we want them to.
